Liechtenstein started a business plan competition in 2004 to support its economic diversification effort.  The competition, managed by Hochschule Liechtenstein, is open to entrepreneurs in all business areas.  All competitors receive startup training.  Carefully screened winners receive cash grants, startup support, and permissions to establish or move their early stage companies to Liechtenstein.  IGL supports the Liechtenstein business plan competition by providing equity capital to winners when a substantive business case can be found.  Several of IGL's existing portfolio companies were acquired through this competition.
